DAY 1,  Sept. 02: DEPART USA 

DAY 2,  Sept. 03:  MUNICH (GERMANY)

Arrive Munich. Tour of downtown Munich (Olympic Stadium, MARIENPLATZ, the Gothic FRAUENKIRCHE, etc.). Welcome Dinner and overnight in Munich. Celebrate Mass.



Depart Munich after breakfast in hotel. Enjoy a scenic drive to Neuschwanstein for an exciting visit to magnificent KING LUDWIG’S CASTLE, which was the inspiration for Walt Disney’s Sleeping Beauty castle. Before arriving in Oberammergau, stop for a short visit to the beautifully-located pilgrimage CHURCH of WIES, a Rococo masterpiece and a UNESCO World Heritage site, also otherwise known as the Pilgrimage Church of the Scourged Saviour. In 1738, tears were seen on a dilapidated wooden figure of the Scourged Saviour. This miracle resulted in a pilgrimage rush to see the sculpture. Many who have prayed in front of the statue of Jesus on the altar, have claimed that people have been miraculously cured of their diseases, which has made this church even more of a pilgrimage site.  Dinner & Overnight in Oberammergau.


MUST ARRIVE IN OBERAMMERGAU before noon for the Passion Play will start at 1:30 PM; check-in at hotel prior to start of play. The ticket includes the Passion Play show in an open air theater with covered roof, and a 3-course dinner, but lunch will be on your own. There will be a 3-hr break during the play, time for snack/dinner.

Depart Oberammergau after breakfast. Travel through the picturesque Austrian countryside to Salzburg. Upon arrival, enjoy a leisurely paced walking tour featuring Mirabell Gardens (seen in The Sound of Music); the quaint Getreidegasse (birthplace of Mozart); and many other highlights of this beautiful city. Enjoy a panoramic drive of the city: Stop by and take pictures at: Winkler Terrace, Leopoldskron Castle, Hellbrunn Castle and the Glass Pavilion, the gazebo. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon at your leisure to independently explore and enjoy Salzburg’s fabulous sights. Dinner and overnight in Salzburg. Daily Mass to be arranged.

DAY 5,  Sept. 06 :  INNSBRUCK  (AUSTRIA)

DEPART FOR INNSBRUCK. A picturesque drive through the Bavarian and Tyrolean Alps brings you to Innsbruck. Enjoy a pleasant walk through its quaint medieval lanes, visit the Cathedral of St. Jacob, and take pictures of the GOLDEN ROOF & Imperial Palace. Discover the city’s history, culture and popular attractions including Maria Theresien Strasse and the Hofburg Cross; Dinner and overnight in Innsbruck. Daily Mass to be arranged.



Set out for Lucerne, the “Swiss Paradise on the Lake." Cross the border and enter Switzerland. Time permitting, you will visit the impressive Benedictine ABBEY OF OUR LADY of Einsiedeln, renowned for the famous Black Madonna and its unique baroque architecture, on your way to picture-book Lucerne. Enjoy a leisurely paced Altstadt (Old Town) walking tour, and discover the hidden treasures of the city. Lucerne has more than 800 years of history. Explore such medieval treasures as the covered Chapel Bridge (1822) and the famous Water Tower which has served as a prison, watchtower and treasury; the Renaissance-style Town; all the Baroque Jesuit Church and the Lion Monument, carved from natural rock to commemorate the heroic Swiss Guard. In the late afternoon, enjoy a  sunset panoramic scenic boat cruise along Lake Lucerne. Dinner and overnight in Lucerne. Daily Mass to be arranged.


DAY 7,  Sept. 08:   BERN (SWITZERLAND)

Depart for Bern, the capital of Switzerland and a UNESCO World Heritage  site nestled in the Swiss countryside. The cobbled Old Town section is so well preserved that residents who lived here 500 years ago would still find it familiar today. Explore Bern on a panoramic sightseeing tour featuring the Bundeshaus (the Swiss Parliament), the Bear Pit, the Rose Gardens and the Gothic cathedral which dominates Old Town’s skyline. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore independently. Perhaps you will take the funicular ride up Gurten Mountain (own expense) which affords beautiful views of Bern. Daily Mass to be arranged.




Travel along the shores of Lake Geneva to the legendary, medieval Chateau  de Chillon. This princely residence faces the lake but puts forth the image of an imposing fortress from the mountains. Later, enjoy inspiring Alpine views with a ride on the Golden Pass Panoramic Train from Montreux to Gstaad. Experience the Golden Pass Train in an extraordinary journey, with a panoramic view of breathtaking sceneries. A never-ending spectacle of three mountain passes, enjoy tall mountains, green valleys and endless vineyards. Admire thundering waterfalls, impressive peaks, glacial ice fields, and tiny villages as you pass through the Valais, a region known for its great mountain resorts and excellent wines. Discover the delightful ambience of this world-famous Alpine ski resort with its numerous traditional wood chalets. Daily Mass to be arranged.



From Bern, travel to the mountain town of Zermatt, world’s most famous & scenic mountain, where only horse-drawn vehicles are permitted. An entire day in Zermatt at leisure to explore independently the village and enjoy its magnificent view of Matterhorn. This gives you the possibility to join a spectacular optional excursion to the Klein Matterhorn for breathtaking panoramic views of the Matterhorn and the Alps. Or take an optional cog-wheel train ride up the Gornergrat mountain (own expense) for breathtaking, up‐close views. Enjoy one of Switzerland’s most picturesque scenery. Daily Mass to be arranged. Overnight in Zermatt.



From Zermatt, travel to Zurich and stop by Interlaken for lunch (2.5 hours  drive), the heart of Switzerland. Enjoy free time to shop and explore the town between 2 lakes. Then drive to Zurich (2 hrs), Enjoy panoramic tour of Zurich City. and visit 2 churches:The Fraumunster (our Lady's Church) dating to the 13th century and finally visit St. Peter's Church has the largest church clock-face in the world. Stop by Swiss Lindt Chocolate Outlet Store to shop for chocolates to bring home. Check into your hotel for overnight and join the group's farewell dinner. Daily Mass to be arranged. Overnight in Zurich.

Do: Ride the Gornergrat

No trip to Zermatt is complete without a ride on the mountain train that runs from the village centre up to an altitude of 10,000 feet at the Gornergrat. This winding, ridiculously scenic 33-minute ride is the starting point for some magical skiing and hiking trails, and also happens to serve up one of the best mountain panoramas in the world.
