MEDJUGORJE

 MEDJUGORJE, a small village in Bosnia and Herzegovina is the holy site where Our Lady allegedly began appearing to six young teenagers on June 25, 1981. The Blessed Mother first appeared on Mount Podbrdo, now famously known as Apparition Hill. She brought messages of peace for the world through conversion of hearts Known as the “confessional of the world” and described as “Heaven on Earth”, Medjugorje has inspired millions of pilgrims from all over the world to come to Medjugorje and many had spiritual conversions after their trip to Medjugorje.

Day 1 (June 9)
LISBON / MEDJUGORJE

This early morning, we will transfer to Lisbon airport to continue our pilgrimage to Medjugorje, for those who want to visit Medjugorje; or fly home to US. Arrive Split/Dubrovnik airport, then transfer to Medjugorje.  (2.3 hrs drive from DBV/SPU).

Day 2 (June 10)
MEDJUGORJE / MOSTAR

While in Medjugorje, you will have the opportunity to experience your faith grow, and share in the faith journey of pilgrims from all over the world. We will attend English Mass daily at 10:00A.M at St. James Church. At he end of each Mass, there is a blessing of the religious articles that you have with you. Every night, there is an evening Rosary. You are invited to attend the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at some scheduled nights outside St. James Church.

Pilgrims have profound experiences during these times while the spirit of the songs sung by village youth moves your soul to another level of spiritual experience. You will also have the opportunity to meet the visionaries if they are in town.

Day 3 (June 11)
MEDJUGORJE / MOSTAR

We will tour the main sites in Medjugorje and then climb the Apparition Hill. This rocky, mountainous hill is where the visionaries first encountered Our Lady. Also, at the base of this hill is a Blue Cross, where it is said Our Lady appeared to the children while they hid from the communist police in the early days of the alleged apparitions.

When climbing, we will pray the Rosary, pausing five times for each decade of the Rosary. At the top of the hill, you will witness the exact location of the first alleged apparition of Our Lady to the visionaries, and enjoy private time in prayer.

Day 4 (June 12)
MEDJUGORJE / MOSTAR

You have the opportunity to climb Mt. Krizevac (Cross Mountain) early in the morning. In 1933, the villagers built a 30' high cross atop a mountain to commemorate Jesus' passion and death on the cross and venerate that very cross. When climbing, your group is invited to pray the Stations of the Cross (to meditate on Jesus Suffering on the Road to Calvary), pausing at each Station.

Day 5 (June 13)
MEDJUGORJE / MOSTAR

 We will visit Mostar, a beautiful historic town nearby, developed in the 15th and 16th centuries as an Ottoman frontier town. Mostar has long been known for its old Turkish houses and Old Bridge, Stari Most, and is declared a UNESCO Heritage site. After lunch we return to Medjugorje.

Day 6 (June 14)

Free day in Medjugorje for more prayers and devotions or souvenir shopping

Day 7 (June 15)
MEDJUGORJE / MOSTAR

Depart Medjugorje  After breakfast, transfer to dubrovnik airport for our return flight to the  USA/MNL.

Day 8 (June 16)
OPTIONAL: One Day Extension in Dubrovnik (Price TBD)

Transfer from Medjugorje to your hotel in Dubrovnik. Enjoy a guided, tour of “Old Dubrovnik”, known as the "Pearl of the Adriatic". Start with a cable car trip up to Mt. Srd and a walking tour of the Old Town and the city walls. Ascend up the craggy Mt. Srd in a cable car affording for jaw-dropping views of the walled medieval town.

Once at the top, take some time to enjoy the incredible views: the medieval walled town of Dubrovnik, the vast Adriatic Sea, the islands that dot the horizon. Then, head back down to the Old Town and enjoy a walking tour of the UNESCO World Heritagelisted site stopping by St. Blaze church, the Rector’s Palace, Bell Tower clock, Orlando’s Column and the Sponza Palace. You will also see the Dominican Monastery and Franciscan Monastery with its Pharmacy, one of the oldest in the world. Finally, climb up to the walls, strolling along the medieval fortifications and admire this historic part of the city. The city walls portion of the tour is self-guided and not a part of the guided tour. Travelers will be provided the city walls entrance tickets at the end of the guided walking tour. Lunch and Dinner will be on your own, enjoy fresh seafood in local restaurants for which Dubrovnik is famously known for! Overnight in your hotel;

Day 9 (June 17)
Depart Dubrovnik / Homebound

After breakfast, transfer to Dubrovnik airport for your return flight home. Arrive USA on the same day (June 17).

PRICE (TBD): 1 night in Dubrovnik with breakfast, guided day tour, entrance fees, entrance ticket for city walls (note this is not a guided), & airport transfer.
